Do you love to sing and want to connect with others in a supportive, queer-affirming environment? Join the Queer Keys in Amsterdam, a weekly choir open to all voices, all levels, and all identities.

Here, we celebrate diversity through music. Whether you’re a seasoned singer or just starting out, you’ll be guided in harmony, rhythm, and vocal expression, all while being part of a welcoming community.

Together, we’ll explore a mix of pop, soul, and queer anthems, create powerful harmonies, and share the joy of collective singing. No auditions, no judgment, just the magic of voices coming together.

PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING JOINING:

The Queer Keys is meant for queer people who want to feel safe, supported, and celebrated. It is exclusively for individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Trans people who are undergoing voice change, or who wish to explore different octaves and experiment with their singing voice, are especially welcome.
Safety is our first priority. To protect the integrity of this space, we carefully select who joins The Queer Keys, ensuring it remains a safe, affirming, and joyful environment for everyone involved.

Practical InfO

Regular rehearsal
- The Queer Keys choir takes place every Wednesday from 18:30 to 20:00 at the RITA Community Center (Reguliersdwarsstraat 54, Amsterdam - Google Maps).
- Each session lasts 1.5 hours.
Schedule & holiday breaks
- No rehearsals on 21 October, 23 & 30 December 2026, 24 February 2027.
Occasional schedule changes
- Normally Wednesdays, but in exceptional circumstances a rehearsal may be moved to another weekday with members informed in advance.
No experience needed, just bring your motivation and good energy.
Your first rehearsal is free. After your trial, you can choose the option that suits you best:
- Single Session – €10
- 4-Session Pass – €35
- Membership – €30/month (automatic monthly payment, minimum commitment of 6 months), including access to choir rehearsals according to the published schedule.
This contribution helps us cover rehearsal space and materials, while keeping The Queer Keys accessible and sustainable.
To keep things running smoothly, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you can’t attend (via WhatsApp, text, or email). For Single Sessions and 4-Session Passes, cancellations made less than 24 hours before the rehearsal, or no-shows without notice, will be counted as a used session. Membership holders are also asked to notify us in advance when they cannot attend so we can plan rehearsals accordingly.
Scheduling updates and choir communication take place via the WhatsApp group. Administrative matters are handled via email.
*If you are currently taking one-to-one singing lessons through On Key Off Site/Art In Mind, participation in The Queer Keys choir is included at no extra cost.
